Good on yer, Eric. Sounds like it went well...and just to put the record straight for the reading population even some of us English don't understand the rules of Cricket ( well, my brother in law does, but he goes to watch it) and as for the offside rule in football ( sorry-soccer).Oh and just to add to the reputation of the English to talk about the weather and nothing else....it's pouring down with rain out there and blowing a gale.. So much for summer

I loved reading this! I am a big baseball (Red Sox) fan. Just yesterday we were driving in a park here in Connecticut and came across cricket fields. I was kind of bewildered. My six-year-old asked what cricket was, and I realized I had no idea how to explain it, and that I didn't really understand it. When we went to England several years ago (my only trip overseas), the thing I remember most about flying back into Boston was seeing all of the baseball diamonds from the air. Baseball truly is a part of life and culture in the U.S., even if it has been surpassed by (U.S.) football and possibly basketball in popularity.
