I never thought much about it. But I'm not sure about comedy-style being based on which coast you are. I grew up in San Diego, but preferred Letterman over Leno. I imagine in the midwest (like Missouri), it wouldn't matter to them which coast the show was filmed on. But then again, I've been out of the country for 10 years so am no authority. Conan has an East coast humour, it's a little more of a bite, a little more high strung and for that reason I don't think he'll be as successful as Leno. I've started watching Kimmel who would have been a better replacement.
